I was previously a blogger on blogspot but got a little fed up with their system so I am branching out to try this one!
For a little intro, here are a few things that I have been up to lately or that have been going on in my life:
1. Scooter had eye surgery, yikes! If you know me, you know I hate medicine, blood, needles, stitches, helpless dogs yelping for their moma! It was not pretty nor did I enjoy hearing my dog whimper for me like he was being taken hostage by the under ground dog meat market. It took three vet techs and me trying to calm him down just for the ophthalmologist to get a tear sample. Not only did Scooter poop all over the only male vet tech but he also decided he was not going to allow that man back in the room and proceeded to growl every time he tried to come back in our exam room. I was red in the face and laughing hysterically out of control because i was so ashamed of my “little” 30 pound dog. We have our two-week check up on Feb 1st, I’m hoping this visit will go a little bit smoother.
2. John and I were facing a major decision about where we were going to live. Our rent was just too high for the way the economy has been dive bombing so we set out to find a cheaper and smaller place. After weeks of moaning and groaning on my behalf because I absolutely hated the new place he had chosen (without my consent or even an opinion), karma flocked our way as a slight hiccup in the new rental apartments process of association approval, allowed for us to stop and negotiate with our current landlord for a lower rent. To say the least, now we are both excited and relieved to a.) not have to pack or move and b.) stay in our amazing and convenient apartment. “Uhh”, sigh of relief*
3. Although we are staying in our current apartment, I unfortunately am being deported… Hahaha, who actually gets to say that in their lifetime? I do!
Being Bahamian born, I have no green card, no work permit and no husband. As perfect as a candidate that John may be, we want that to be something special when we are ready and not a shot-gun anything. So thus leads to our year long, long distance relationship. I hate even calling it that, but ce’ la vie!
In a years time we plan for John to move down to Nassau and make a life for ourselves there, which I am quite excited about. We are young, so why not try Island life right?
signing off for now, SS.
